Provincial Domain Vrijbroekpark

Near the centre of Mechelen you will find the Provincial Vrijbroek Park, a dynamic and surprising place. In a green oasis with space for sports and games, various plant collections grow and bloom. A feast for the eyes. Thanks to the efforts of our gardeners and volunteers, everyone can enjoy this park.

Vrijbroek Park is known for its extensive rose collection. The large rose garden was even awarded an ‘Award of Garden Excellence’. But in addition, you will also find a thriving collection of dahlias, cannas and peonies in the summer gardens. Utility plants, edible and poisonous, grow in the ecotope garden. And in the willow niche, an old cultural landscape, you walk past a collection of willows and poplars; the Salicetum.
