Provincial green estate Arboretum Kalmthout is a wondrous place. Since 1856, more than 11,000 plant species from all over the world have been collected in the 13.5 hectare arboretum. Every season you see something new. Winter is a special time, when the witch hazels, the largest collection in Europe, bloom. Regardless of cold or snow, they provide unique, sweet-smelling flowers in warm colours. In autumn, together with the Japanese maples, they show a beautiful colour spectacle. In spring, cherry and apple trees bloom in abundance! In summer, the butterfly garden attracts particular attention. Children can then take part in a scavenger hunt. They love the large pond and the bonsais. Take a break on one of the many benches or on the cafeteria terrace. Besides visiting the garden, you can also shop in the plant centre and the gift and book shop.

Arboretum Kalmthout is open every day (except 25/12 and 1/1) from 10am to 5pm. Free admission in the cafeteria, the gift and book shop and the plant centre. Info & tickets garden visit www.arboretumkalmthout.be.
