Arboretum de Marche

Arboretum de Marche is a new arboretum operating under the wing of Arboretum Wespelaar. It is still a very young collection: the property was acquired in 2018 and opened its doors to the public in 2023. The 78-hectare site already holds significant ecological value, with a high diversity of habitats (including forests, hay meadows, and ponds), and thus also a rich variety of fauna and flora. The actual Arboretum forms the core of the area and covers about 20 hectares. The collection focuses on a few lime-loving genera such as Crataegus, Prunus, and Tilia, and is being gradually expanded. The visitor center is beautifully integrated into the landscape and is surrounded and covered by a large variety of perennials and shrubs.
